Government of Timor-Leste and ISAT
Progress to Date
Discussions between the Government of Timor-Leste and ISAT commenced in 2020.
These discussions focussed on the Government’s Ambitions to improve the Drivers and Operators Licensing regime; from learning, training, testing and operating and vehicle, equipment and machinery.
The Government desires to increase the competency of those individuals being issued with a License. It is predicted that this, in turn, will also improve the safety of the individual and community.
Having alliances with Registered Training Organisations across the globe, ISAT was approached to assist the Government in overhauling the driver and operator licensing regime; with training courses and testing to international standards.
ISAT’s alliance partner in Australia has many years of experience in providing training courses, theory and practical testing and the direct issuance of licenses from its approved training, testing & licensing centers.
As discussions progressed between the Government and ISAT, the matter of how a new licensing regime might be implemented was explored in depth; it was agreed by the parties that it would be prudent to establish a solely focussed and independent Timorese entity.
The entity is LICENSING UNIPESSOAL LIMITADA trading as LICENSING.TL
The technical expertise within the LICENSING.TL entity will provide extensive strategic, systems and implementation services to the Government.
ISAT will deliver driver and operator license training and testing services as an Approved Training and Testing Center.
